Sviatoslav Richter’s take is also worth trying, in spite of poor sound quality. When I listen to Gould’s version, I’m most of the time aware of Gould’s presence, while Richter seems to fade in the background, and the music takes over.

Vadim Kulikov: This is from the point of view of A as if there were a law saying that people are allowed to wear glasses only with negative strength. The same law for everyone — independent of your eyesight. Someone could still consider potential positive glasses wearers as treated not so nicely.

Or as B might put it, it's as if people demanded glasses with negative strength to function as glasses with positive strength.

I can’t, but it’s based on

1) the representability of diophantine systems as polynomials
2) the formulation of primes as such a system (eg. here)

If you inspect the polynomial closely, you notice that it has the form

(k+2) * (1 – P(a,b,c…)^2 – P’(a,b,c…)^2 …), so it will be positive only when all the polynomials P are zero. They essentially select the prime values of k+2. More on Wikipedia.
