V for Vapid

In some old issue of the Mad Magazine, there was an article about different types of students. The "anarchist" looked pretty dirty and smelly and he opposed state and government and wanted to dismantle them, except those parts that write his welfare cheques and tax the rich for that purpose. So very true.

We will probably go see "V for Vendetta" this weekend or some time next week. I recently came upon an Alan Moore interview that said that he has had his name removed from the movie completely, since the movie apparently no longer depicts the struggle between anarchism and fascism the way the comic book did.

I find it hilarious that Alan Moore is such a pro-anarchist and wrote his comic book as a protest against the Thatcher government, since Margaret Thatcher if anybody was the ultimate anarchist. She believed that society didn't even exist, only individuals did, and wanted to dismantle the state completely. I seriously can't see what problem anarchists could possibly have with Margaret Thatcher.

But then again, I can still remember an anarcho-feminist petition that circulated around when I was twenty or so. This supposedly anarchist petition demanded harsher punishments for rape and more police. Tell me, how do you parody these people?
