Double or nada on the highjump
There
are many people out there who proclaim that disabled children are
wonderful and just as good as other children, and perhaps even better,
especially in the case of Down syndrome. After listening to the
arguments of such person, would it be offensive to openly wish him or
her to have many disabled children? I am honestly curious about this.
Parents of disabled (especially mentally retarded) children who claim that the children are as good as or better than normal children surely don't really mean it. I have no doubt it's just a way they try to cope with the situation.

I don't believe there are many people who thinks disability is a good thing. If somebody do so, he/she ( finnish is better ;) ) is confused at least.
In general everybody hopes that nobody will born disabled. That happens anyway and there is no reason to add an individual burden by telling them their lives are nothing but a misery. It is not, and people can in many ways lighten other peoples suffering. One way is to tell them they are as good as anybody else. Wich is, by the way, true.
Sorry about my english.
