Dead man's gold

Back in the old country, I noticed that some Canadians are starting a gold mine in Finland. Perhaps this will launch a new gold rush and bring the gold bugs out of hibernation to demand the return to gold standard. In addition, we should hope that the company behind this enterprise is not the infamous Bre-X under a new name.

In other news, I can see that in my old home town where I grew up before going away to university, some guy who was the same age as me was shot and killed in a Wild West style gunfight near some seedy bar. They didn't publish the name of the victim, but I do wonder if it was somebody that I used to know in school, somebody whose life turned out very differently than mine. Ah well.

People here in your old home town talk about the shooting accidend, that the killer and the poor man were very much unlike the people you used to know here. Who knows, iff they have changed after the old days.
