I'm no Superman

Now that the new Superman movie is soon coming out, I have to wonder if the life of Brandon Routh currently resembles the life of Vincent Chase in the hit HBO show Entourage.

I also have to wonder why nobody wears a cape any more. It would be so neat to put on a cape instead of a bulky coat when you go out somewhere. Perhaps this is due to the general decline in formalwear, people just slouching around in shorts and tees like they were giant ten year olds. Nothing wrong with that, of course, since in the future everybody is just going to wear a comfortable tracksuit wherever they go. As the old Finnish expression advices us, only the ugly prance around in fancy clothes.

I have to wonder why Superman wears little shorts, with a belt, over his pants. Does he also have a pair of underpants on inside his pants? Why do I suspect Jimmy Olsen would know the answers to these questions?

As for capes, I'm trying to think of the last male, heterosexual, non-goth, non-Renaissance Faire particpant, to wear a cape not as a costume but as outerwear. Orson Welles, perhaps?
