The idea that view-changing must be somehow reciprocal suggests it carries some sort of cost. What is this cost? Do we not all wish to hold the most accurate possible beliefs? We should thank a person who corrects us on something.
All day long the media were almost encouraging people to get violent. Having BBC News 24 and Sky News on in the office was a strange experience: the channels seemed almost disappointed when so few people got injured and so little damage was done.
Also: coming in and out of work, I wasn’t able to tell anything unusual was going on in London. Westminster was as calm as it always is.
